Share My Elves! (Virtual Assistants)

elves virtual assistantsI smiled when I saw this as that’s what I call my virtual assistants – my “Elves”!

Many people realize the benefit of having virtual assistants – and I could not live the Luxurious Nomad lifestyle I do without them – but it is a scary journey for some to actually find someone reliable – and who speaks English – and then to navigate the payment situation, their hours, whether you are getting what you paid for…

Since they are ‘virtual’ – meaning they are not there with you in flesh and blood, so to speak – many get dismayed with what seems like a daunting prospect of even knowing where to start in the virtual assistant hiring process, and so continue to do it all themselves.

Not long ago, my Chief Elf and her Elf (yes, even my elves have elves!) came up with the idea of me sharing them with our clients – since many of our clients are also in need of virtual assistants.

What started with that simple idea has now become a reality where we have several clients using the services of my Elves.

Since I already have a team of Elves in various disciplines, we have come up with a straightforward way you can use the services of my Elves without all the drama and worry of having to find your own.

All the details are here:  http://luxuriousnomad.com/elves/

Here is a list of the types of services with which my Elves can assist:

  • Book Marketing (submitting your book to literally hundreds of sites, competitions, forums; posting your author profiles, requesting reviewers and much more – essentially the majority of action items in my book marketing book)
  • Data Mining (research for contact details, websites and businesses)
  • Data Entry
  • Online Research
  • Simple Video Creation (using animoto and windows movie maker with provided files)
  • Basic Photo Editing (Photoshop, Gimp2)
  • Basic WordPress (posting, uploading images and videos, installing plug ins)
  • Social Media Maintenance (posting provided posts/tweets, scheduling using Hootsuite, creating posts using Canva for Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Google+, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram)
  • Marketplace Listing (such as Ebay, Amazon, Shopify…)
  • Classified Ad Posting (Craigslist, Backpage, and other free classified sites)
  • MLS
  • Directory Listing (for websites and businesses)
  • Forum Posting
  • PowerPoint Presentation (from provided information)
  • Word Processing (Pdf to MSWord, typing, transcription)
  • File Organization (for google drive)
  • Other tasks – willing to be trained where required

Most of your questions will be answered on this page http://luxuriousnomad.com/elves/ and if you have any other questions, feel free to reach out!

Looking forward to my Elves becoming part of your glorious life as well…

My latest FREE book: “Sell More Books! 173 Book Marketing Ideas, Tips and Lists”

Book Marketing-coverHave you written and self-published a book?

Then you might find this collection of book marketing ideas a handy resource – and I’m giving it to you for (almost) free!  No strings, no need to sign up for anything…

My team of Elves and I work with writers and authors, coaching them through the process of turning their idea in to a book, and then turn those books into best-sellers.  However, I always felt like I wanted to give them (and you) even more…

So, I compiled a heap of information I already had, links, ideas etc into this 179 page book.

Why make this collection of book marketing ideas only $0.99?

Good question!  Have you heard of Seth Godin’s book, “Unleashing The Idea Virus”?  Reportedly still the most downloaded ebook in history and now in 10 languages, I found Godin fascinating as, at the same time he was giving his book away for free, it was also a best-seller on several paid rankings.  Now, admittedly, the book was published back in 2001, however to this day, it still does well as both a free and a paid ebook.

So what does that have to do with me giving you this book for only 99c?

Godin coined a paradox (and I will probably slightly misquote him), “the more you give something away, the more valuable you become” – and while it doesn’t apply in all circumstances, I felt that statement ring true for me – and white I would love to make the book free, 99c is the best I can do through CreateSpace and Amazon.  One if my drivers is to share my knowledge and experience, and to be seen as valuable in the eyes of my customers, readers and following – and when I am valuable to them, they tend to be happy and that not only makes me happy, but they tend to be repeat customers and refer others to us – and that also makes me very happy!  🙂

So, with that in mind, I do hope you find some value in this book – and I would love it if you would post a review on Amazon!

DOWNLOAD KINDLE:  If you would like to purchase the kindle version of the book, it’s only $0.99.  Simply CLICK HERE.

76% of Potential Clients Can’t Find You!

contactI was astonished at the findings!

After reading a particular book I wanted to contact the author and couldn’t find their contact info anywhere.  Not at the front of the book, nor at the end.  I Googled them and their book to no avail.  All I could find was that it was listed on Amazon, from where I purchased it in the first place.

That started me thinking…  I know, that’s dangerous at the best of times…  🙂

So, I asked my Team of Elves to randomly select 100 books on Amazon that fit the following criteria:

  • Subject matter must be entrepreneurial in nature
  • Self-Published

That’s it.  I figured if someone has written and self-published an entrepreneurial-based book, then they most likely are wanting to use it to generate additional business.

My Elves were then asked to locate the author’s contact information using the following:

  • Amazon’s “look inside” feature and/or
  • Googling the author name and book title and using only the first page of results

My guess was that about 75% of those authors would be found fairly easily – I was totally wrong.

Of the 100 books they found:

  • 23 authors were readily located with contact information ranging from websites, email to full address and phone number
  • 1 author listed a website, however that website had no way of contacting the author!  No ‘contact us’ or even a link to an email
  • 76 authors could not be found!

Why am I telling you this?

If you are a self-published author, I strongly suggest you take a look at your own book and make sure you are not among the 76%!

…and if you now have a sinking feeling in your stomach that your contact details are not easily found at the beginning of your book or through a basic Google search, fear not!  Simply the fact that you have self-published means that you have the availability of modifying your source manuscript document to include your contact information and re-uploading it.  All that will happen is Amazon will list your book as ‘currently unavailable’ while it is approved – then you’re ready to go!

…and remember the author in question I mentioned at the beginning of this article who started this quest?  The reason I wanted to contact them was to discuss a potential client I was wanting to refer to them…  Needless to say, that referral will go elsewhere.

Don’t miss out on business!

Do what it takes to make sure you are easy to find!

If you would like additional support re your book, please feel free to reach out.  I look forward to hearing from you!

Your Book as Your Business Card

your-book-business-cardImagine…

You are at a business networking event and instead of simply handing you a business card, the person with whom you are speaking hands you a copy of their latest book, with their business card as a book-mark!

Books are no longer just books…

For professionals and entrepreneurs, they are branding devices, credibility-builders and a means to increasing consulting and speaking fees.

Not only that, but those who have taken the next step and turned their book into a best-seller, have set themselves apart from their competition.

Imagine you need to see a Chiropractor.  Would you rather go to a general Chiropractor – or one who had written a best-selling book on chiropractic methods?

Imagine you want to do a book signing tour.  Bookstores will be much more receptive to a best-selling author than someone who has simply self-published.

Imagine you are a Conference Organizer looking for a Speaker for your next event.  I’m guessing you would rather choose a Speaker who had written a best-selling book!

Imagine you want to send a pitch to be on a talk-show.  While there is never a guarantee that they will even look at your pitch, Producers are more likely to consider someone who is a best-selling author than someone who simply published a book.

…and in many cases, people even feel comfortable paying MORE to someone who has already shown their expertise by becoming a best-selling author.

Being a published author in and of itself lends great credibility to any writer – but reaching that status of a best-seller puts you well above the rest of your field.

What you do with your new status as a Best-Selling Author is up to you – I had one client who was able to almost double their speaking fees after their book had reached the rank of a best-seller on Amazon.

We are in a new age of business marketing and promotion where your book is now your business card.

If you’ve already written and published a book, consider how you could use that book more effectively to engage your audience and grow your business.

If you have yet to write and publish a book, consider the many benefits of doing just that.

Whichever road you choose, if we can be of assistance, please feel free to reach out.  Whether it’s coaching you through the writing and self-publishing process or turning your book into a best-seller, it’s time to take the next step in solidifying your place as an expert in your field who commands the prices you deserve.

2016 Kindle Book Awards

2016 kindle book awards2016 Kindle Book Award Details

This is the fifth annual Kindle Book Awards, and I would suggest anyone who has published a Kindle book consider entering.

The cost is minimal, and you never know…  YOUR book may be among the winners!

Here is the information from their website https://www.thekindlebookreview.net/2016-kindle-book-awards/#comment-12107:

WHEN: Registration Starts Feb. 15, 2016. Ends May 1, 2016
WHO: Any Independent and Small Press Author.
WHAT: eBooks published on Amazon between May 1, 2014 – May 1, 2016 (Must have Amazon Link to qualify).
MINIMUM WORD COUNT: 25K words (to allow for novellas in all categories)
COST: $29

PROCESS–HOW YOU WILL BE JUDGED:

  1. Books will be pre-screened by KBR staff and our amazing review team. We will initially read the “Look Inside” sample (90% of your score) and Amazon book description (10% of score). We’re looking for books with a compelling book description, but more importantly, books that “grab us from the beginning” and make us want to continue reading. The screening process is an indication of your potential buyers experience with your book, as subjective as that is. Book covers will only be judged to settle a tie.
  2. Your sample is enough for us to get a feel for the quality of writing and professionalism, and to get us excited about your book. Your book description should be compelling with zero typos. We recommend that you fix any typos on your book page and book file before submitting. We WILL NOT accept updated files after it is already submitted.
  3. If your book passes “pre-screening” it will become a “Semifinalists” (20 max per category) and one of our top reviewers who love your genre will read the manuscript in its entirety.
  4. NOTE: Advertising on our site will NOT help you win. Our screeners and review/judging team care nothing about ads. All we care about is finding the best books. That’s our quest, our passion. Of course, as always, literature is subjective and we hope you understand that.

CATEGORIES: The following  genres & sub-genres are welcome (Min 25K words)

  1. Mystery/Thriller
  2. Romance
  3. Y/A
  4. Sci-fi/Fantasy
  5. Literary Fiction
  6. Horror/Suspense
  7. Non-Fiction

* How to Become a Best-Selling Author *

how to become a best-selling author on amazon best-seller

Imagine seeing YOUR book listed at #1 on Amazon!

bestseller consultation

The screen-shot you see in the video above is from just one of my best-sellers and when the first of them hit #1 I was ever so excited – but the ranking itself was not why I was excited…

I wanted to prove to my students and coaching clients that without being famous and without promoting it to your email list (that is, even if you have one!) ~ if you follow the steps, and your book is actually what people want to read, you can become an Amazon Best-Seller!

Many people believe to become a best-selling author you need to be rich, well-known, and/or have a huge and responsive email list – BUT it’s nice to know becoming a best-selling author is still an achievable goal for those who are not already famous…

Q:  OK, so does how much does it cost to become a best-seller?

There are companies that charge anywhere from around $5,000 to over $25,000 to turn your book into a best-seller, some guaranteed their services, some do not.

Our price is not even close to that – and we GUARANTEE the result!

Full details and pricing are listed below.

Q:  What types of books do you accept?

We accept all quality self-published books (excluding erotica).

At one time we were only accepting non-fiction, however we have had such success with our fiction writers that we now accept both.

best-sellers

Q:  You said ‘quality’ books – how do I know if my book is good enough?

As authors, I think it’s in our very nature to be hugely self-critical of our work.

Yes, we only take on a very limited number of books in this program – it would not be possible to work with everyone – and before we start, we need to make certain your book is of a high enough quality to become a best-seller because we GUARANTEE it!

…but we haven’t had to turn down a book yet!  Every one of the authors that has come to us has a book that is worthy of becoming a best-seller.

Some are long, some are short – some are business books, some are fiction, some are memoirs…

…and some we have actually come across and contacted the author direct because we believe their book would be an excellent candidate to become a best-seller.

So, I have confidence to say that in 99% of cases, the fact that you are even considering becoming a best-selling author is a good indication that your book is better than perhaps even you think it is…

Q:  So you mean ‘real people’ can become best-sellers?

Yes!  Tina Benson is one such person who was able to achieve a best-seller ranking on Amazon…

Now YOU can become a best-selling author!

It took me a VERY long time and a LOT of trial and error to put together the exact process to be able to take a Kindle book through to best-seller status and to date we have achieved that status for many, many clients.

After originally only offering this service to my coaching clients, I decided to now also make it available to people who have already self-published a book on Amazon (or are about to!).

While we can’t guarantee a #1 ranking (although several of our clients have achieved that level), in the past twelve-months, every single client has achieved a ranking in the TOP 10 in at least one category on Amazon!

“Without publicity, a terrible thing happens ~ NOTHING!”

This quote by P.T. Barnum (of Barnum & Bailey Circus fame) is spot on the mark.  If no one knows you have written a book, no one will read it.

If you’re going to market your book, invest in something that actually guarantees you a result!

Q:  You said a ‘Kindle book’ – why only Kindle?

To achieve a best-seller status requires a HUGE number of people to get a copy of your book within a very short window of time.  We actually work with Amazon’s Kindle KDP promotion tools that allow us to do things that frankly we couldn’t do with a print book – and to get those all-important thousands of people to all get your book in a very short space of time.

While it is obviously possible to achieve a best-seller rank with a physical print book for someone with very little public following (if any), those services are literally tens of thousands of dollars and therefore out of reach of most people.

We focus on providing a service that guarantees to turn your book into a best-seller at a price that’s affordable – and therefore we focus on the Kindle version of your book.

Q:  What if I haven’t written (or finished writing) my book yet?

If you haven’t yet written your book, simply click here to learn how we can coach you step-by-step through the entire process and guarantee to get your book published on the world’s largest bookstore, Amazon.com!

If you have written your book, read on…

Q:  What if I published my book only as a print book, not a Kindle?

Even if you self-published a book some years ago as a print-only version , we can still turn it into a Kindle-version and get you that Best-Seller rank!

schedule

Q:  My book was published some time ago, can it still become a best-seller?

Yes!  For instance, one of Chris Cooper’s books was published six years ago, yet we were able to take it to a #1 ranking on Amazon…  Watch the video to learn more…

Q:  Why is becoming a best-selling author important?

…apart from the fact that it feels AWESOME to see your book right there on the screen on the world’s largest bookstore as a best-seller..!

Q:  What is a ‘best-seller’?

The generally accepted definition of a best-seller is to be within the top 100 in a category.

…and many of the other companies providing best-seller services will correctly tell you that if you are in the top 100 in any category, you are a best-seller – and with the fact that according to a Forbes.com article there are anywhere between 600,000 and 1,000,000 books published each YEAR, that seems like a reasonable goal.

We like to aim a little higher than ‘reasonable’ for our clients…   :-))

Our goal is to pull out all stops and do everything we possibly can to make you what WE believe is a best-seller:  listed in the top #50 on Amazon in your category!

In fact – we GUARANTEE a top #50 rank or HIGHER!

…and while we guarantee a top #50, every single one of our clients in the past twelve-months has achieved a top #10 ranking in their category on Amazon.

Here is another one…

best-seller-3Dear Leigh, When we signed on with you to help re-release and push our first book to Amazon Best Seller we were hopeful. WOW…..

You exceeded our expectations and drove our book to #1 Amazon Best Seller in TWO categories.

That’s success. We are not sure that we can thank-you enough! Now it’s up to us to leverage the accomplishment. You are a master!  With the greatest of appreciation, Mark B. Given – Co-Author, Finding My Why Ernie’s Journey….A Tale for Seekers, Amazon #1 Best Seller

Q:  So, what is the process?

Guarantee

The entire process takes approximately 60 days (although we have successfully done it in less) and during that time we give you some action steps, but most of what needs to be handled is done by us – meaning me and my amazing Team of Elves (well, that’s what I affectionately call them!).

Through the KDP Kindle Select program there is a feature allowing you to run a campaign to give the Kindle digital version of your book away for free for up to 5 days in any 90 day period of time to help you achieve a best-seller ranking and to get your book in the hands of as many people as possible.

For two months we strategically position your book ready for a three-day ‘Best-Seller Launch’.

Through a great deal or research, trial and error, we have developed a strategic KDP Kindle book-marketing process – a tested and proven plan – that involves first determining how to best promote your book (analyzing your competition, keywords etc) and second, posting, tweeting, linking, advertising, forums, partnering, and more to ensure your Kindle book gets in as many hands as possible during the three day campaign.

COVERED Front“Leigh not only helped me write and publish my book, and was there for me every step of the way, but she and her team turned it into a best-seller on Amazon even before the official launch!  I don’t know how you did it, but THANK YOU, Leigh, for helping to make my dream of becoming an author a reality.  And now I’m a “best-selling” author as well!  You are the BEST!”

We currently work with and advertise your book on over 300 partner sites and platforms that are all focused on making sure YOUR book becomes a best-seller!

From day 1 to day 57, all the magic and hard work happens behind the scenes…  Then on day 58 the real fun begins…  For three days (days 58, 59 and 60) we continue to promote your book and we watch with you as your book climbs in the Amazon rankings…

Q:  So, my book is available free during the launch?

Yes.  “Build a better mouse-trap and the world will beat a path to your door.” ~ actually, they won’t UNLESS they know you’ve built a better mouse-trap AND they know where to find you!  Simply making your book free for a couple of days won’t achieve anything unless you have a strategic and tested plan to go along with it that will ensure enough people – often in the thousands – download your book all at the same time.

That’s why we work with and advertise your book on literally hundreds of sites and platforms.

As a side-note, here is an excerpt from a post by Tim Grahl about his KDP experience (I’ve not met nor worked with Tim but have read his book – and as you will see, Tim also references the “top 100” most people refer to as a best-seller rank):

“Every author’s greatest enemy is obscurity, so the fact that over 6000 people have possession of my book now is a huge win for me.  My goal was to give away at least as many copies as I had sold so I definitely hit that goal.  Another win is I made it as high as #101 ranked free Kindle book.  And I’ll admit, I was pretty sad that it didn’t break the top 100.  So close!

Did my sales go up or down as a result?

Overall my sales have shown about a 10% increase in the two weeks since the campaign. As I assumed, and heard from other self-published authors, it never hurts sales to give your book away, and this has definitely been true for me.

Any other positive results?

There were two other positive results that came as a result of the campaign.  One expected and one unexpected.  First, as expected, newsletter subscription rates from book readers went up.  In Your First 1000 Copies I embed several links to my website for extra resources.  I am tracking those pages to see who is signing up for this email newsletter as a result of reading the book (you may be one of them!).  As expected, if you give away 3408 copies of your book, newsletter subscription rates from readers are going to go up and this has been the case for me.  Second, unexpectedly, it significantly improved the book recommendations around Your First 1000 Copies.  Before the campaign, my book was often paired with some of the spammier, “get rich on Kindle” books.  Now, it’s become a recommended book against Guy Kawasaki’s APE: Author, Publisher Entrepreneur and other popular titles.  I believe this will have a helpful, long-term effect on sales.

Any negative results?

None that I can tell.  …

Q:  Will this help me actually ‘sell’ copies of my book?

In some instances, yes – but not always.  Remember, the purpose of your best-seller campaign is to LAUNCH your book and begin the momentum, getting your book into the hands of as many people as possible in as short a window of time as possible, all culminating in that all-important “best-seller” ranking.

While we can never guarantee that becoming a best-seller will result in a certain number of book sales, many of our clients who actually do the optional activities we suggest (most of which are free) to further promote the book and themselves during the launch, achieve best-seller rankings in the paid store sometimes continuing up to weeks after the launch.

ROBYN HOOD ebook…and as an example, this client reached #2 during their launch and then the following week sent me this message to let me know their book had reached #1 in the paid store:

“This is so cool … Right now #1 in Time Travel – and I bet the book that was keeping us out of that spot – is 11.23.63 by Stephen King. I’m okay with being just behind him. 🙂

I just this morning ran into two people who saw the book in their Facebook feed this week.  It’s starting to get out there.   A friend just IMd me on FB – he picked up the book and couldn’t put it down until he finished it. 🙂

You have certainly more than fulfilled your commitment in getting Robyn Hood Chronicles: Beginnings launched, and I deeply appreciate your assistance.”

Guaranteed Result – Guaranteed Low Price

…and we do all this for one basic fee – just two installments of 1,250 USD – the first when you sign up and the second a month later.  That’s it – there are no extras, no surprises, no royalties, no commissions, no hidden charges – and if you don’t achieve at least a #50 ranking in at least one category on Amazon, we will repeat the process for you for FREE!

schedule

Q:  Why is it so cheap?

Good question!  We could make a lot more money by charging much higher prices – but that would put becoming a best-seller out of reach of even more people.

We have been doing this for quite some time and know that what we charge is a price that makes it affordable for those who have finally taken the leap of becoming a published author and simply need help taking the next step to turn their book into a best-seller – and it is a fair price we are happy to stand behind.

…and in certain circumstances, we have even helped out a couple of authors by allowing them to pay for the service in additional installments over a longer period.

Also, you won’t have seen any paid advertising for this service.  Why?  Because we get all our business from customers who are referred by previous clients; from people who have seen my articles and posts; and on occasion from reaching out direct to an author whose book we found online and we think would be an ideal candidate.

That means the money we don’t spend on advertising, we don’t need to pass on to our customers in order to recoup!

Q:  Are there any other fees or charges or anything else I have to pay?

None whatsoever.  There are no additional fees or charges on our end, and for Amazon, this is a digital product, so you don’t owe them anything either.

It’s funny, a lot of people, when we start talking about this process, are looking for any hidden extras or traps.  We have become so used to saying ‘yes’ and then actually expect the ‘upsell’ – as in, “well, you’ve bought this product, but if you just give us some more money, we will now give you all the bells and whistles that didn’t already come with it.”

I believe in telling you what you will get, how much it will cost, give you a guarantee and then stick to it.  Simple and straightforward.  I know it’s an old-fashioned way of doing business, but that’s the way we do things around here.”  ~ Leigh St John

Q:  Will you get me Book Reviews?

Book reviews are essential.

Many people will not even consider a book unless it has two or three reviews – and from our experience you need at least five reviews before most people take your book seriously – so if you don’t already have five reviews, we will give you tips and suggestions on how you can get a minimum of five reviews.

Not only that, but many of our partner sites require that a book has at least five x five star reviews as part of their quality assurance – so if you don’t already have five x five star reviews, we will work with you to discuss how you can obtain reviews to help you reach that goal.

“What if reviewers don’t like my book?” I hear you ask?

First, please remember that the vast majority of writers are highly self-critical – your book is most likely of a MUCH higher quality than you perceive it to be.

Second, we only take on a very limited number of books in this program – it would not be possible to work with everyone – and before we start, we need to make certain your book is of a high enough quality to achieve a best-seller rank of at least #50 because we GUARANTEE it!  So, just the fact that we have said “yes” to you is evidence enough that we believe in you and your book – and therefore the likelihood that a reviewer will also ‘like’ the book is high.

Q:  Are there any things that are not included?

Everything you see listed here is included in the price.  There are no hidden fees.

For one low price, we guarantee to turn your book into an Amazon best-seller and you into a best-selling author!

It is important to note, however, this process is not designed as a ‘get rich quick’ campaign – in fact you may not make money during the three days of the campaign.

What it DOES do, is to turn your book into a best-seller – and thereby raises YOU to the ranks of a Best-Selling Author – and we even give you the screen-shots to prove it!

Q:  What do I need to do during this process?

Although we will provide you with a list of action steps you can take in addition to the Best-Seller Program if you choose, there is actually very little you need to do..

We do it all for you!

We undertake a lot of research on your book, your competition, the best keywords…  We promote you and your book on several hundred different sites, platforms and services…  We post about it, tweet about, advertise it, and follow a carefully and strategically laid-out plan of action that we KNOW produces RESULTS!

schedule

Q:  What will it cost me if I DON’T turn my book into a Best-Seller?

How does it feel knowing you put so much time, effort, and often so much of ‘yourself’ into creating your book, only to know that almost no one has read it…

If you are reading this page, it’s most likely that you fit one or more of the following:

  • You have published a book only to find it languish on Amazon and you’re feeling disheartened that no one is reading it
  • You know you could command higher prices in your business by becoming a best-selling author, but you don’t know how to go about it
  • You always dreamed of becoming a best-selling author – and you wrote a great book – but then nothing happened…

Think about how much more you would pay to a professional who had written a best-selling book VS a similar professional who hadn’t…  That difference in price is just part of what it is costing you to NOT turn your book into a best-seller.

How does it feel knowing you believe in your book and yet you can’t seem to get anyone to read it?

That feeling of dismay and possibly even regret is just part of what it is costing you to NOT turn your book into a best-seller.

We could list many other ways that by NOT turning your book into a best-seller that you are leaving money on the table; that you are not experiencing the joy around your book that you could and should…

The only real question is – what are you going to DO about it?

There is a quote you will notice I use on a lot of my websites, correspondence and social media:

“Will my future self thank me for my decisions and actions TODAY?”

Five years ago, you had dreams, made plans for what you would do in five year’s time…  Well, those five years have passed and the day you were dreaming about is TODAY!

…does it look the way you thought it would ~ and if not, why not ~ and what can you do differently TODAY to make sure your tomorrow is everything you imagine it will be?

Every conscious action is a choice…
